Aims of the campaign

The "Vote for Animals 2024" campaign, launched by Eurogroup for Animals, aims to put animal welfare and animal rights at the centre of the upcoming EU elections on 9 June 2024. The campaign encourages candidates for the European Parliament to make a pledge on behalf of animals. "It also aims to inform citizens about the importance of these elections for the progress of animal welfare and animal rights in Europe, and to motivate them to vote by helping them find candidates who share these values.

Help make a difference

Click here to ask the candidates to submit a declaration of commitment for the animals. In addition to the topic of animal testing and the paradigm shift towards animal-free research, the pledge addresses other important animal welfare issues, such as ending the suffering of animals during transport, a ban on fur farming, and the protection of aquatic and wild animals. By signing the pledge, the candidates commit to campaigning for all 10 core demands in the next legislative period if they are elected. The topic of animal testing is therefore always part of the pledge. The page is translated into all official EU languages.

Here you can find a detailed list of the demands to which the candidates commit themselves with their declaration of commitment.
